Ca’ da Noal – Casa Robegan

The Ca’ da Noal, Casa Robegan, and Casa Karwath complex features exquisite late-medieval buildings with typically frescoed facades. These three adjacent properties overlooking present-day Via Canova underwent multiple transformations from their original medieval layout, until a "Gothic-style" recovery was achieved through the Melchiori–Botter restoration of 1938. Following the extensive damage caused by the 1944 bombings, a new intervention was led by Mario Botter. The 1970s then brought a successful era of rebirth, with the reorganization of the spaces based on a design by Carlo Scarpa. Finally, the 1990s saw a further, carefully planned restoration of Casa Robegan. The Ca’ da Noal section of the complex previously housed the Museum of the Treviso House (Museo della Casa Trevigiana).

This museum recreated the rooms of an ancient residence, featuring a kitchen on the ground floor, alongside living rooms, a dining room, and a music room on the first floor, all furnished with period furniture, paintings, and various objects. These spaces subsequently became an exhibition venue for 20th-century art, such as the exhibition dedicated to Gino Rossi in 1974. This continued into the 1990s with a series of exhibitions showcasing ceramics, ancient textiles, and other sections of the civic collections.Today, the Ca’ da Noal portion is awaiting restoration, while Casa Robegan serves as the headquarters of the Mazzotti Foundation (Fondazione Mazzotti). It hosts numerous contemporary art exhibitions and events, and during the warm season, its internal garden comes alive with a variety of artistic, cultural, and social initiatives.
